Suzanne P. McKillop Named ASME Senior Vice President of Standards and Certification

MPR Associates is pleased to announce that Suzanne P. McKillop, PE, Senior Technical Advisor, has begun a three-year term as Senior Vice President of Standards and Certification for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). She will also serve a three-year term as Chair of the Council on Standards and Certification.

“Suzanne has consistently demonstrated a rare combination of technical excellence and visionary leadership throughout her career at MPR,” Tom Lubnow, MPR Principal Officer, said. “Her appointment to lead ASME’s Standards and Certification Sector, reflects the trust the engineering community places in her ability to guide critical standards development in an era of unprecedented technological change.”

In her new executive volunteer roles at ASME, McKillop will drive ASME’s volunteer community to keep pace with technologies and demands that did not exist when many current standards were written. Among these challenges are integrating artificial intelligence into engineering practice and keeping pace with the advent of technology needed to address the sharp rise in global energy demands.

McKillop sees her role as guiding the more than 6,500 volunteers in ASME’s standards bodies with intention so that the more than 500 ASME Standards and numerous Certification programs support innovation across the globe.

“I’m honored to work alongside ASME’s volunteer community to ensure our standards keep pace with the technologies shaping the future of engineering,” McKillop said.
